  • A Historical Guide to Aberdeen's Beginnings - Hall's Cross Roads

  • A Historical Tour of Aberdeen's Churches

  • Aberdeen Heritage Candlelight Tour of Local Churches (Dec. 2000)
  • A Coverlet was developed and purchased depicting the Churches found in the Aberdeen area. As a fundraiser for the Heritage Trust, these are currently for sale by members of the Trust.
  • Organize and conducted the annual Aberdeen Heritage Day. This event highlight organizations that contribute to our quality of life in this area. Included in the displays and program of events are: Live Entertainment, Story Tellers, Children's Games, Businesses, Crafts, Food Vendors, Museums, Hobby Clubs, Service Organizations, Churches and demonstrations to name a few. The Aberdeen Lions start the day with a pancake breakfast. Listed below are the dates and locations of previous Heritage Days.

  • Historic Buildings. In 1999, the Aberdeen Heritage Trust reviewed and earlier survey of historic buildings in Aberdeen and ordered historical plaques for twenty one (21) structures. In October 1999, the Trust held a banquet at the Colonel's Choice Restaurant and presented the plaques to the owners along with a brief history of the buildings. Historical Sites
  • Building Preservation. For several years, the Trust has attempted to acquire the Poplar Hill House and the B & O Train Station. To date, the negotiations have not been successful, and both structures are deteriorating significantly.
  • "The Window" Newsletter. In August 2002, the Trust published and distributed their first newsletter to the residents of Aberdeen.
  • Aberdeen Heritage Trust Lecture Series. Concurrently with the newsletter, the Trust announced the beginning of the Aberdeen Heritage Trust Lecture Series. This is an initial nine (9) month series, starting in September 2002, which features local citizens discussing specific historical events in the area. The series is a continuation of the excellent lecture series titled "Elsworth Shank Lecture Series", initiated by the Susquehanna Museum of Havre de Grace (otherwise known as the Lockhouse Museum), under the direction of their Executive Director, Bob McGee. The lecture series sponsored by the Aberdeen Heritage Trust is held in the Aberdeen City Council Chambers at 60 N. Parke Street starting at 7 pm. Admission is free. Lecture Series Schedule
