We find ourselves in the center of a crisis unlike any that have come before it. And amidst this crisis, a need and an opportunity have arisen for intrepid volunteers willing to travel to nearby grocery stores and pick up or shop for food and supplies for those individuals endangered by the threat of COVID-19.
The City of Aberdeen, inspired by the good work of other organizations such as "Invisible Hands," has started Aberdeen Assist: a platform to bridge those in need with those who can help. The process is simple. Volunteers and those in need will submit their contact information in the related forms here:
Anyone who cannot complete this form is able to call in to Aberdeen City Hall at 410-297-4212 and leave a message with your contact information. For emergencies, please DO NOT wait for this service and call 911 instead. We’ll compare submissions and match individuals with someone who can help them. There’s never been a better time to do some good for someone else.
