On Monday, January 6th, the City of Aberdeen's DPW staff will begin a proactive sewer maintenance program that will involve cleaning and inspections using closed circuit television (cctv). We have divided the City into 7 Regions to better manage the 76+ miles of sewer mains. While it is our goal to move as efficiently as possible, this project will take several years to complete. We will send out a ROBO Call notification at the start of each Region. DPW crews will knock on doors to notify residents before they begin work in the area. Residents can expect to hear noises from the plumbing in their homes as the cleaning is underway. This is normal. As a precaution, toilet lids should remain closed. Residents may experience a slight harmless odor if there are unused drains within the home. Residents may use water as they normally do while our crews perform the work. Our staff will take every precaution to prevent disturbances as they work in the area. Please visit this page for updated locational information. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Our crews are currently working in Region #1. Work may continue for several weeks or months.
