The City of Aberdeen will receive sealed bids for Phase II of the Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement at James Avenue & Graceford Drive/Westwood Drive Intersection. The project generally comprises installation of approximately 1,075 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains, replacement of five (5) manholes, frames and covers, replacement of service laterals and cleanouts, restoration to approximately 1,275 SY of pavement, and restoration to seeded and other areas disturbed by construction operations.

Paper specifications and bid forms are available for a charge of $25 at the City Hall, Department of Public Works on the 2nd Floor, 60 North Parke St., Aberdeen, Maryland, 21001, between the hours of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. All bids must be sealed and plainly marked "Bid No. 19-03 Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement Phase II" and delivered to Parley Hess, at City Hall, address shown above, no later than 2:00 PM EDT on Friday, October 26, 2018, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at 9:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at City Hall. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is not mandatory but is recommended.

The Engineer for this project is ARRO Consulting, Inc. located at 108 West Airport Road, Lititz, PA 17543, Telephone: 717-569-7021. 

Technical questions shall be directed, by e-mail, to Jimmy Dennis at [email protected] at the office of the Engineer. Questions will be accepted until 4:00 PM EDT on Thursday, October, 18, 2018. 

Reproduction of the Bidding Documents, or their placement on websites of prospective bidders and other entities, is not permitted.

Bids from prospective Bidders who have not obtained complete sets of the Bidding Documents will not be accepted.

Bids may be modified or withdrawn by an appropriate document duly executed (in a manner that a Bid must be executed) and delivered to the place where Bids are to be submitted at any time prior to the opening of Bids.

Bids shall remain open for a period of 60 days from the date of Bid opening. See Instructions to Bidders for other provisions on the time available for acceptance of Bids.

Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid security in the form of a certified check, bank check, irrevocable letter of credit, or Bid bond (on the form included with the Bidding Documents) for five percent (5%) of the Bid total.

The City of Aberdeen hereby reserves the right, which is understood and agreed to by all Bidders, to reject any or all Bids and to waive any omissions, errors. or irregularities in any Bid.
