The City of Aberdeen is requesting proposals from qualified artists to create a mural painting on two locations of a pedestrian bridge structure at the MARC/Amtrak train station in Aberdeen. The two mural locations are at the intersection of U.S. 40 and West Bel Air Avenue and the intersection of East Bel Air Avenue and Aberdeen Proving Ground Road.

The objectives of the mural project are as follows:

• Create an environment in which the Station can serve as a focal point for the continual revitalization of the Transit Oriented Development area and the Aberdeen Main Street initiative.

• Increase the visibility of the Aberdeen Amtrak/MARC Train Station and enhance its image as a transportation hub and gateway to downtown Aberdeen.

• Improve the visual appearance of the formidable concrete pedestrian bridge structure.

• Provide a welcoming environment for the commuters that utilize this transportation hub.

• Provide a visually prominent identifier for the Aberdeen Amtrak/MARC Train Station.

Hard copy proposals are to be delivered to Aberdeen City Hall, 60 N. Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD 21001 attention: Ryan Harrah, Procurement Officer, by 1:00 PM EDT on May 20, 2019.

No announcement of award, if any, will be made until the proposals have been evaluated by the City. Notice-of-Award, if any, will be given to the successful Bidder in writing.

The City of Aberdeen reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to seek clarification of any or all proposals, and to make an award, if any, that in their opinion will best suit the needs of the City of Aberdeen.
