Election Information

This year’s municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Aberdeen Activity Center, 7 Franklin Street, Aberdeen, MD 21001, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., to elect persons for two Council seats for 4-year terms.

Voter Information

A person is a qualified voter of the City and eligible to vote in a City election if that person:

1) is a citizen of the United States; 
2) is at least 18 years of age; 
3) is a resident of the State of Maryland;
4) is a resident within the corporate limits of the City for at least 21 consecutive days immediately preceding the election;
5) is registered with the Harford County Board of Elections at an address located within the corporate limits of the City;
6) is otherwise qualified under the Constitution and laws of the State of Maryland;
7) is not registered to vote in another state.

Voter Registration

Deadline for registering to vote is Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 5 PM.

If you have any questions about your voter registration or to check on your registration, contact the Harford County Board of Elections at 410-638-3565, on or before the voter registration deadline of October 14, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.  Voter registration applications are available online at www.harfordvotes.gov.. Forms are also available for pick up at the Harford County Board of Elections, 133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill, MD, 21050 or at Aberdeen City Hall, 60 North Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD, 21001 in the lobby. These forms must be returned to the Harford County Board of Elections.

Absentee/Mail-In Ballot Applications and Voting

 You are eligible for an absentee/mail-in ballot if you are a registered voter in the City of Aberdeen in the State of Maryland, but an Absentee/Mail-In Ballot Application must be filled out first.

  • Pick one up at Hall, 60 N. Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD 21130, in the lobby.
  • Get the form by clicking here Absentee/Mail-In Ballot Application.
  • By calling the City Clerk at 410-272-1600, ext. 211.

Return your completed application to the City Clerk at City Hall either by mail, fax, email (no electronic signatures allowed), or by dropping it off in person.

Deadlines:

  • To receive your ballot by mail, your Absentee/Mail-in Ballot Application must be received by Tuesday, October 28, 2025, no later than 5 p.m. sharp at City Hall. Remember to leave enough time if you are mailing. The address is: City of Aberdeen, 60 N. Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD, 21001, Attn: City Clerk.
  • If you fax or email the application, the deadline is 11:59 p.m. on October 28, 2025. The fax number is: 410-272-2240.
  • The email is: cityclerk@aberdeenmd.gov.

After the Deadline: After the deadline, absentee/mail-in ballot request forms and ballots must be picked up in person at City Hall. Ballots must be postmarked no later than November 4, 2025. Ballots will be received at City Hall, 60 N. Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD 21001 or at the polling place, Aberdeen Activity Center, 7 Franklin Street, Aberdeen, MD 21001, on Election Day, before the close of the polls at 8:00 p.m.

Designation of Agent Information

Can someone help me with the Absentee/Mail-In Ballot form? Yes, if you have a disability or are unable to read or write. Any person can help you, except a candidate on your ballot, your employer or an agent of your employer, or an officer or agent of your union. The person can help you with Parts 1, 2, and 3 and must complete Part 4 of the application. If you cannot sign the application, the person helping you should print your name in Part 3 and write his or her initials after your name.

Can someone pick up my absentee ballot and bring it to me? Yes, if you complete the Designation of Agent form. The forms are available at Aberdeen City Hall or online by clicking here Designation of Agent Form or by calling the City Clerk at 410-272-1600, ext. 211. The person you name as your agent must be at least 18 years old and not a candidate on your ballot. This person must sign, under penalty of perjury, that he or she gave you your ballot and, if you wish, returned your voted ballot to the Aberdeen Board of Elections at City Hall.

Public Demonstration, Pre-election Logic and Accuracy Testing

To ensure that all voting equipment is running and configured properly for Aberdeen's election, the Harford County Board of Elections will conduct a public logic and accuracy test of the election voting system equipment at 133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill, MD 21050, on October 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. This is open to the public.

Canvassing of Absentee & Provisional Ballots and Certification of Official Results

The canvass of provisional ballots, absentee ballots and certification of the 2025 Aberdeen Municipal Election is scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers at Aberdeen City Hall, 60 N. Parke Street, Aberdeen, MD 21001. The Council Chambers is located on the first floor to the right after you enter the building. This is an open meeting.

Oath of Office

Please join us at the Monday, November 24, 2025 Aberdeen Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m. to witness the Oath of Office taken by the newly elected.
